''She tried to excite me, but the thing was cold with the chill of a thousand deaths.''
Petronius (1st C. AD) The Satyricon

Warmest greetings, arts enthusiast!
I'm excited to invite you to my latest exhibition - the graduation showcase at Edith Cowan University! Here, I've been busy with the other 20 graduating and post-grad visual arts students, spread across three buildings on campus. This is the biggest annual event of the university, and I hope to see you there!

The work being showcased will be an accumulation of a solid year's-worth of development, through experimentation and discipline, between painting and drawing respectively. I received guidance from established Western Australian artists and lecturers Paul Uhlmann, Gregory Pryor, and Ben Waters. I'll be revealing sixteen fresh paintings, including my largest painting to-date, and also my very smallest.
In this body of work, I take guidance from Franz Kafka and Sigmund Freud. Revisiting my boyhood eruptions and juvenile relationships, these paintings and drawings reflect upon curiosity, obsession, and phobia.
As always, my works will be for sale, at extremely affordable prices.

This year I received the Artist in Focus Award from the City of Joondalup. The award includes my big event for the next year: my solo exhibition at the Joondalup Art Gallery!

In the meantime, please do visit my website and facebook for a taste of what's to come.

Kindest regards,
Ryck Rudd
