We Woke Up Like This - 2020 - Oil on canvas - 75cm H x 205cm W
You are invited to DUMPED - a group exhibition inspired by our material waste culture. This is my latest showcase since the COVID-19 lockdowns!

ELLENBROOK ARTS HQ (34 Main Street Ellenbrook, Perth Western Australia)

Opening celebration begins 5:30pm
Artist panel talks, Q&A
with refreshments
Sunday 15th November
begins 1pm

All other days, 7-29 November.
Wednesday to Friday: 10am - 5pm
Saturdays: 10am - 5pm Sunday 1pm - 5pm

Eleven of my paintings are on view , including my largest since TEFAF2020 earlier this year. I've never used so much paint on a canvas as now, to get the required textures and marks. In the spirit of the exhibition, nothing was wasted!

Please note: while the majority of my paintings are displayed on the walls, a few are also visible upon request! Please ask and a gallery attendant will prepare the hidden paintings for viewing.
To quote my statement from the exhibition catalog: ''What if we each kept our waste, instead of making it someone else's problem?

''This year, in my own life I began dumpster diving, composting, and vegetable gardening. Rescuing food from a rotten fate and making it a meal for myself or my garden is a very enriching experience.

''My paintings here are inspired by the giant mountains of trash growing all over the world. The sheer scale of garbage mountains can reach sublime proportions making the individual feel powerless to influence change. These mountains of trash might outlast the great pyramids.

''I want to ask, might our legacy be total rubbish?''

DUMPED is curated by Tami Esancy. Fellow artists included are Beverley Iles, Neil Elliot, Veronica McGrath, Vince Austin, Tami Estancy herself, Peter Dailey, and Carolyn Francis. The fold-out catalog includes a beautiful introduction by Gemma Ben-Ary, Executive Director of Ellenbrook Arts HQ.

Please join us for the ARTIST PANEL TALK - Sunday November 15 at 1pm. Earlier this year for FRINGE FESTIVAL I joined other exhibiting artists at the gallery for the Lust for Lustre panel discussion. It was immense fun with the crowd and felt like we were on television! Please join us for the discourse, especially if you're concerned with the topics at hand, of waste, innovation, creativity and resourcefulness in our culture.
